Lost in Translation in EDSA

I was experimenting with the QL 19 and found out that the film would still be exposed at f/1.9 even at 500th of a second shutter speed.

This is the typical EDSA bus. A sign only our oriental neighbors can understand.

  3. FREE INQUIRY GROUP, INC. Photography Contest is on!

    1. The contest is open to all Filipino enthusiasts, hobbyists and amateur/non-professional photographers. A participant must not be a member of any professional photography association or mainstream media outlet.
    2. Registration fees (Not included in the formal registration for the Sept. 13, 2008 Seminar) are pegged at P100 for enrolled students and P200 for other participants (employed, unemployed, with income, etc.)
    3. A maximum of three (3) entries per category from each participant will be accepted. Entries may be in black & white (grayscale) and / or full color, digital photos in *.jpg format only.
    4. Submitted Photos, unpublished in print and in cyberspace, should be shot/ taken within the Philippines during the July 1 to August 30 contest period.
    5. “Philippine Social Realities, Crises and Opportunities” shall be the theme. Photos must be “live” (not arranged or scripted), and can depict scenes from the streets or commonplace environment or unusual events.
    6. Photographs should have quality printing resolution, with an exact width of 1500 pixels (height varies) and then e-mailed to free.inquiry.group@gmail.com. Participants must ensure that they have the high resolution files in case their entries are selected for printing or exhibit.
    7. Participants must include in their emailed entries:
    a. Full Name or Alias
    b. Birth Date (mm/dd/year)
    c. Mailing Address
    d. Telephone Number
    e. Organizational Affiliations, School / Office / Publication
    f. Technical information, description, context notes or write up about the photo/s and the photographer
    The organizing committee reserves the right to reject entries that do not conform to the contest guidelines.
    8. Deadline for submission of entries will be on August 30, 2008.
    9. 15 (fifteen) entries will be chosen for display, in addition to the September seminar outputs, in the Photo Exhibit and Campus Tour scheduled in October. Selected entries will also be published in the organizing committee’s web site.
    10. Announcement of winning entries and awarding of winners will be held in October. Decisions of the Board of Judges, to be composed of the organizing committee, seminar speakers and panel of experts, are final.
    11. The contest organizing committee automatically obtains full ownership of submitted photos and may use them for any purpose the organizing group deems fit. Photo credits or acknowledgement remain with the photographer.
